IRONMAN CORNER

Man, it is cold outside compared to what it has been like!  Jenna and I got some great training in this past week and weekend.  Here is how our normal week goes: swim on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday morning, run after school on Monday and Wednesday, bike after school on Tuesday and Thursday, Friday is our rest day, Saturday and Sunday are for long workouts!  If you haven't noticed we really don't have lives besides training! On Saturday we were ready for an interesting day.  We started at the Y at 6am to swim for an hour, then we suited up and jumped on our bikes for a nice 33 mile ride to downtown Newburgh and back, then off for a run to the westside and around Garvin Park and back.  We got in our first brick workout of the season! Jenna and I both felt great after doing all 3!! All of our distances for swimming, biking, and running were more than what you would do for an olympic triathlon but not enough for a half ironman.  So once we got finished we started getting ready for the second part of our day, our cousin's wedding.  Since we knew we could be cutting it close on time we got ready at the Y (our second home).  While we were looking around we realized that we had made a MAJOR mess in the lockroom.  Jenna and I have had the same lockers at the Y everyday for the past 4 years.  The people at the Y now call our corner, IRONMAN CORNER.  So we got ready super fast, so we could run to Subway before the wedding.  The rest of the evening was your typical wedding reception.  Sadly, Jenna and I didn't stay long because we knew we had another very long day ahead on Sunday.

On Sunday we decided to do our first long bike ride of the season.  We started at Bluegrass, near Elberfeld, biked to Lynnville and back and around.  Jenna biked 71 miles today and I got in 60 miles.  Again we felt great after our bike ride today.  I will say it does get a little boring when you are out in the middle of no where with no one!  I feel Jenna and I are doing great training! We are so blessed to have so many supportive family and friends along this long and challenging journey.  Only 125 more days left!
I hope you enjoy the picture of IRONMAN CORNER  at the YMCA!
Oh and by the way if you want to know what life is like for an ironman, watch this youtube video.  It is pretty funny, Adults Only!
