Well - it's that time - it's time to recap the month of March!! First, how lucky were we to have such beautiful weather for the month of March!?! Hallie and I both got in a solid month of training - and I can say that for the both of us-we are getting more and more excited about this ironman! Hallie claims I'm going to hate her for the next 5 months, but I will love her on Aug. 26th (that is after it's over!) Right now, I don't hate her at all, I have truly enjoyed spending this time with her - and I honestly can't think of anyone else I would rather do this with! (or anyone else who would be stupid enough to do it with us!)
For the month:
Hallie swam 17,060 yards, biked 159 miles, ran 70.37 miles, and walked 19.2 miles!! Way to go Hallie! This does not include her time lifting weights.
I swam 24,066 yards, biked 261.79 miles, ran 82.10 miles, and walked 6.40 miles! A total of 49.28 hours training. All-in-all- we feel good about these numbers - since our 20 week training plan to the ironman starts Easter weekend! We think we are doing well for a base to build off of.
This past week we met with Breann Ellis a nutrionist about our nutrition now and building up to the ironman. This was a great experience. I know for me, it opened a closet that I'm not sure I'm ready to open, but it's open NOW! I realized I have a lot of issues with food, but I am focusing on my long term goal - I want to be fit and healthy & able to complete this Ironman to the best of my ability. I look forward to meeting with her again.
Also - if you are bored (and you don't mind a little cursing) youtube - I will be an ironman. It is two robots talking - it basically sums up how most people feel about those training and competing in an ironman. It is pretty funny.
I hope everyone had a wonderful March! It's hard to believe it is April 1st!!! I hope Hallie and I will be able to start blogging weekly about our training experiences, life experiences, nutrition experiences, and anything else we find interesting that we would like to share. I know I will be saying this more and more, but we both want to thank those that have spent time training with us (even though we may not go as fast as you would like!) We want to thank those that have listened to us talk about our training, dreams, fears, etc (because if you are around Hallie and I you know that this ironman consumes much of our conversations.) & we want to thank those of you that have kept us in your thoughts and prayers- this is a journey that we are not only sharing with each other-but we are sharing with all of you! THANK YOU
