It's hard to believe that today is April 30th! The ironman is only 17 weeks away!!!
This past week has been very interesting....let's see - btwn the two of use - besides endless hours spent swimming, biking, and running - While I am only fighting with being physically exhausted - Hallie is fighting with a broken toe & now is missing a maroon jacket, red cooler, 4 water bottles, & oranges! (More to follow :-) )
Week Recap-
Tuesday was the first time I skipped a workout :-( For those of you that remember - Tuesday was scattered showers, so Hallie and I said we would ride inside. However, Tuesday was an extremely LONG day for me - so I skipped out on biking and went to bed at 7!!!!
Thursday- Hallie's alarm didn't go off- so I swam by myself. She was NOT happy. She made a committment to herself that when she signed up for this race-she would not sleep in-but I think she made up for it after school that day because she road for 50 miles!!
Saturday we started at the Y at 6 swimming. I got in 2500m and Hallie a little less. Then we took off on our bikes. When we started it was chilly, but by the time we finished it was HOT! I got in 52 miles & then took off for a run. I ended up running for 1hr 30 minutes and walking for 30. I want to thank Hardee's, Dairy Queen, & McDonalds for allowing me water during my run. It was A LOT HOTTER than i thought- and i was dying for some water!! (Saturday during Hallie's ride- she dropped her maroon jacket out in St. Phillips-when she went back to get it - it was GONE! minus- 1 jacket)
Sunday - Hallie and I set out to ride 90 miles. Hallie went to the trouble of packing a cooler and setting it out at Boonville-New Harmony and HWY 65. It was our 50 miles stop to refuel. She even put a cute not on the cooler, KEEP GOING! IRONMAN WATER STOP. However, the ride wasn't a pleasent one- and I actually texted her when I stopped and told her to come get me if she got done before me. She called me when she got to the water stop and the cooler was gone and she was out of water. I had taken a different route so I hadn't made it back to the water stop yet- but she had to go home since she was out of water. Thankfully- she came and got me! (After Hallie picked me up-we drove back out by Boonville-New Harmony and Hwy 65 to see if someone had picked up the cooler and then threw it after seeing it was just water- we didn't find it. Hallie even called the Police dept. just to see if someone turned it in. Hallie- minus 1 jacket, 1 cooler, & 4 water bottles! )
Made for an interesting week :-) All the fun in training for an IRONMAN!
Just a brief recap of April
Waiting on Hallie's numbers- but for me
Swim; 44.526 yds
