Last night I had my first nightmare about the Ironman!! I thought you all would enjoy hearing it- Hallie sure did :-)
Well first of all our bikes were just throw on this grass area. No racks or organization what-so-ever. Then I keep telling them that we had to start the swim..but they kept telling me I had to wait. They wanted to get all the professionals in the water. Then they came back and told me they weren't going to let me swim.
Then my dream jumped to coming out of the swim (so I guess I decided to swim even though they told me I couldn't.) As I was running from the water to the transition area- they told me to slow down. They said I couldn't start the ride until I picked up my race packet. I told them that I didn't have time - I needed to start!!! Then there was this girl who was going through her race packet and she got a wet suit. And I was irrate- i told them I didn't need a wetsuit- I needed to start biking- It was going to take me a good 6 hours!!! Then they said well before you bike- you need to watch this instructional video- I was almost in tears.
When I finally got to my bike the tires were flat. Hallie was there- and I said Halie what am i going to do ...and she said well let me look at it. I told her not to touch it/mess anything up. When i got on my bike- she had dropped my seat all the way down and messed with the gears. I couldn't pedal - so I was basically running while sitting on my bike (because the rules say you cannot make forward progress during the biking portion if not on the bike.)
I came across a lady who was handing me food and I said I don't need food - I just started!!! and she said - well keep it up - you are doing great! And i screamed back - NO i'm not - my bike is broken and I can't even pedal.
Then I came upon the same lady and she was trying to give me food again - and I told her i had only gone 2 miles and I did not need food - but I needed my race belt. I realized I didn't have my race number on. She just laughed and told me to keep up the good work. She said you are almost to the hill- and she walked along next to me as i climbed this small hill. I said oh- that wasn't bad at all....and she said- oh no that wasn't the hill- this is -and points to not a hill but a MOUNTIAN! I end up getting off my bike and dragging it up the hill as i walk up backwards (because my grandpa used to tell us it was easier to walk up a steep hill backwards ahahaha.)
WHen I finally made it to the top there was a guy trying to give me more food! I told him I didn't need any food I needed a new bike..and he said well follow me- why don't you come into our bike store and purchase a new bike! I was so upset and told him I didn't have time- I was doing an ironman.
The last thing i remember of the dream is passing our mom and the rest of our friends and family that came to watch - and mom yelled out - "Jenna- just quit- you're not going to make it. Hallie's better than you!"
And I woke up! hahahahaah
I hope you all got a good laugh - I hope to look back at this after I become and Ironman and just laugh!

Training has Begun!
Ironman training has officially begun. I am now in my second week of training. Jenna has been training for like months because she is crazy! Jenna and I met on Sunday with four local ironman finishers: Mount Davis, Mason Flake, Diana Holland, and Denise Kiesel. It was great! They all had a little bit different information to share. Diana mentioned that when she would go running that she would always think about crossing the finish line and having the music playing. Jenna and I talk about that ALL the time, just about how we are going to feel WHEN we cross the finish line. Over Christmas break, Jenna and I watch the Ironman World Championship and it really got us pumped up. What an inspiration!! After talking with some of our new ironman friends and continuing our research on the race, there is not a doubt in my mind that Jenna and I will both be ironman come August. We are getting really excited! To tell you how much of a dork I am, I recently cut a whole bunch of inspirational pictures out of my triathlon magazines and laminated them and have hung them around my house to keep me focused. I truly believe this race could be just as much mental as physical. If anyone would like to go swimming, biking, or running with Jenna and I at any time during this training, please call us. We would love to have company. We are starting to realize that the only way we will keep friends and family during this training is to get our friends to join us. Well anyways I just wanted to report that all is good in ironman training world.
